retenciones efectuadas sobre sus prestaciones withholdings made out of benefits (emoluments) paid Explanation: Seems from the Translators Cafe posts that there is some confusion over the right preposition usable for sobre (s) cf. '..sur les prestations' in FRE. It would be deductions from and not of in BrE. Also depends on how you are translatimg the weasel word of 'prestaciones' that, in a corporate context, means 'ancillary obligations' according to an Irish colleague of mine. taxes on benefits withheld Explanation: "retenciones efectuadas" is another variant of the tradition "retenciones praticadas" found in Spanish tax legislation text. Rebecca Jower lists these EN synonyms in her lexicon for retenciones: Withholding taxes; taxes withheld; amounts withheld at source, which I know are used in British texts, but of course the UK jurisdictions likely have some very regionally used one. "prestaciones" can mean a boat load of things (performance, obligations, [SS/Contributory/etc.] benefits, etc.), so further context could help. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 41 mins (2019-04-15 09:52:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- traditional* |
