agree  philgoddard: I think "companies" would be more appropriate.

  -> Yes, I agree that 'Companies' is better :)

agree  Mónica Algazi: Según sea en inglés británico o estadounidense.
13 mins
  -> Gracias, Mónica :)

agree  Bill Harrison (X): yes, I'm with Phil on that point. Must have dictated this term about 30 times today. PS. Don't mention it, revised 8000 words this morning all damn silly tables then had to dictate 14000 words of boredom for delivery tomorrow noon.

  -> Thanks, Bill - you´ve had an exciting day then :)

neutral  Timothy Barton: Just for the record, there's a translation published by the Ministry of Justice with the title "Corporate Enterprises Act".

agree  jackstraw: I agree with Phil and Bill (they should be a double act), I think the plural is much more appropriate.

Explanation:
Two alternatives to the entry above, after further research.
The first is from the Ministerio de Justicia's translation and the other is based on what these "sociedades de capital" actually entail (with acknowledgement to Rebecca Jowers' comments in her Lexico Temático).

neutral  Rebecca Jowers: This law governs not only LLCs (S.L.s), but also corporations (S.A.s) and partnerships limited by shares (sociedades comanditarias por acciones). Each one is treated in a separate section of my "Léxico".

  -> Hi Rebecca, sorry, only just saw this. Yes, you're quite right, I don't remember where I got that from, and you certainly don't mention that in your Léxico, I've just checked :-)
