Spanish term

Peso propio

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering
Is there such a thing as "eigenweight"? If so, I'm wondering if that's the translation. This "peso propio" is used to calculate the weight of elements in accordance with their dimensions. So, is it eigenweight or something else? Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Peso propio translates as "eigenweight", propio peso as "dead weight".

As a matter of fact, "eigen" as a prefix actually exists, in such words as "eigenvector", etc. In fact, there is no such concept in Spanish. Instead of using "peso propio", I would use "peso eigen", to differentiate it from "peso específico" and "peso". I really hope this helps. It is a tough term.
