I need the words in quotes, please:
A description of an antiquarian book, "M. pelle ant." (bound in old leather?) , says that in spite of "leggere arrosature" (light reddening??) it retains value because of the "maggior freschezza dei rami". What are the "rami"? The book also has 182 "bei ritratti n.t." What is n.t.?

"M. pelle ant." : Bound in antique-look leather. "M" is a mystery to me.
"Leggere arrosature" could be a reference to some slight water staining either on the covers or on the pages.
"Rami" could be a plural for "rame" (etching) rather than "ramo", so "it retains value because the etched images are bettere preserved"
"n.t." could it be "non testuali" (i.e. fuori testo) -> "plates"?

Comment: "You are right about "rami" - thanks. I found that M. stands for marocchino. The n.t. is still in doubt, but my friend says not to worry about it, so I won't.

I guess it's the same kind of thing. b.n. will nbve black and white. You will see here that there are quite a few f.t. as well. I went thru Google and types in incisione and n.t. and came up with quite a lot.

Mezza legatura � quella che ricopre con il materiale pi� pregiato solo il dorso del libro e una striscia pi� o meno
grande dei piatti (mezza pelle, mezza pergamena, mezza tela ecc.). Il libro viene ad essere racchiuso tra due piani che sono detti piatti, o specchi.

Leggere arroSSature. Si parla di arrossatura o brunatura. Il colore della carta pu� cambiare per ragioni diverse: umidit�, qualit� della carta ... una forte arrossatura pu� anche rendere illeggibile il testo.
Rami, come gi� detto da Anna, � plurale di rame, materiale sul quale venivano realizzate le incisioni con uno stampo.
Freschi = nitidi, quindi ben fatti e ben conservati.
