I'm lucky to have very strong language skills in both English and Spanish, since both were very important growing up as well as in the workforce.
I've written for a Spanish-language online newspaper in Panama City, Panama (the country, not Panama City, Florida), heading up the lifestyle section. Note this is an all-Spanish environment.
Immediately before Panama I worked for 3 years as an English-language Sub-Editor at Ahram Online in Egypt in an all-English environment.
My field of expertise and topics I enjoy translating and/or editing:
- Politics/International relations
- Arts & Culture
Is your document in a Graphics Program?
For 4 years I worked solely as a graphic designer, specializing in bilingual products.
Note that Journalists these days do everything: take and edit photos, record and produce videos (I use FinalCut Pro X) as well as write.
This makes my specialization easy for me: translating company's Graphics documents (aka DTP) in the graphics program itself.
Because of this I also do quite a bit of Quality Control work.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Questions are welcome!
