The verification of your 'Proz.com Identity' is only for one purpose: To show other site users / future or prospective clients / colleagues that you are who you claim to be on the site. It keeps the site secure and reduces fraud, false or double IDs etc. Obviously if you bring friends and they are not members of Proz.com then their IDs do not need to be verified. Anna, you don't need an ID for a Powwow. Henry & Co. think it can be an asset to site users, that's all - and you can have it verified at a Powwow if you wish - but I see you are already "VIDded" (ID verified) on your profile page anyway!

You don't need an ID to enter a Powwow if this is what you thought. You are very welcome without an ID!!!! And your friends, too! I just thought I do us all a favour by 'verifying the identity' or 'VIDing' (in Proz terms). Sorry for the misunderstanding!
