Hi. With reference to SDL Studio 2009, if you have, say, an EN>FR translation memory but you have a FR>EN translation to do, can you use the EN>FR memory? If so, what do you need to do? TIA for any help. | | | | Jana Kinská Czech Republic Local time: 18:30 English to Czech + ... | Paul O'Brien Argentina Local time: 13:30 Italian to English + ... Hi Jana,
same issue alright, but dating back to 2004. I'm looking for help with Studio 2009.

Hi Bian.
Okay, that sounds good. So, can you quickly run through the procedure again?
I mean:
- Export all translation units.
- Create a new database for the opposite language pair.
- Import the previously exported units.
- Reorganise the database.
What does "Reorganise the database" amount to?

Again, I am not sure if I understand correctly. In the "old" Trados (Workbench), you open your newly created TM (opposite language pair) with the previous TM data imported, and there is an option File>Reorganise, there should be something similar in your version. It has to do with the integrity of your TM: in this case, I guess, it "flips" the units, swaping each source and target unit in the pair. | | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Language pairs both ways? | LinguaCore | AI Translation at Your Fingertips
