Primarily European Jun 10, 2014

Hello Rose, I am British and work from European Spanish. I believe much of the content will be useful for speakers of other regional varieties of these languages as well, since they share many translation challeges, but the examples used are taken primarily from European texts.

I've never attended a webinar before and I'm a bit nervous about what goes on. Also, I haven't got microphone/headphones and I wonder if this will limit the benefits I get from the course?

Hello magsyl,

Thank you for your interest in the training. In order to participate in a webinar all you need is a headset or speakers and fast Internet connection. All participants will be muted during the webinar and will not be able to speak to the trainer. You will be able to listen to the trainer and follow the presentation from your computer screen (the trainer will share his/her screen with the presentation). You may see how webinars are conducted by watching fee webinars videos at http://www.proz.com/videos/free-webinar-week-videos You can also run the connectivity test and make sure audio works well: http://www.proz.com/faq/4997#4997

The sessions will be recorded and even if you do not attend the live course you will still have unlimited access to the video and handouts. In case you are experiencing any problems while attending sessions or have any doubts please do not hesitate to submit a support request: http://www.proz.com/support/

Thanks!

My bests,
Helen

spanish translator Oct 2, 2014

can we attend the webinar if we are Spanish translators? I translate agreements from English into Spanish, but many times they have asked me to translate agreements from Spanish into English. I had worked two years in several law firms and I had done many translations to English. Now I need a bit more practice. Would it be interesting to me?

The webinar may well be of interest to Spanish translators with a high level of English Oct 2, 2014

Hi Isabel, I see no reason why the webinar would not be of interest to you if you want to practise translating into English. The content is general, though, and not focussed on any specific areas of specialisation, so you will not get any legal practice. I hope to see you there!

webinars paid but not able to attend Oct 3, 2014

Hi,
I have just made payment for the purchase of both sessions of webinar to be conducted now at 17:00 and on October 10th. Maybe it is too late, but my question is: will I be able to get the recorded sessions even if I have not had time to do it at the moment? the invoice is being issued but not received by you.
Thanks,
Isabel Sanllehi

Hello holmsie,

Thank you for your interest in the training. As a rule, up to one week is needed to encode videos and prepare training materials, http://www.proz.com/faq/5204#5204 Within one working week after a webinar a link to the video and handouts is emailed to all participants. Once it is shared, you will have unlimited access to handouts. A certificate of attendance can be downloaded at http://www.proz.com/profile/?show_mode=standard#trainings

In case you do not receive a link or have any questions or doubts, please do not hesitate to submit a support request, http://www.proz.com/support/ . Thanks!

My bests,
Helen
