German to English Tech/Engineering Agriculture
Ein wichtiges Ergebnis sind die im Rahmen des Projekts entwickelten molekularen Techniken, die Möglichkeiten eröffnen, die Ausbreitung von genetischen Informationen über den Pollenflug ohne den Einsatz von transgenen Pflanzen zu erheben.
Of course I know what is meant here, but can't quite get the correct term in this context. Thanks for your help!

you can also use pollen dispersal

agree Ken Cox : Agree with 'pollen dispersal' (lots of relevant google hits). Strictly speaking, 'pollination' means the actual fertilisation of the female (elements of the) flower by pollen.

pollen count n.
The average number of pollen grains, usually of ragweed, in a cubic yard or other standard volume of air over a 24-hour period at a specified time and place.

There is a slight difference between the way the 3 terms are used whether in the US or UK, so I would advise doing a search for the terms online to see which of the three is most appropriate for your context.
