The context is an interview of a policeman in Russia, and how they deal with drug addicts. I know that снимаем can mean to take a photo, but this is not mentioned anywhere else in the text, the main thing that is done at the dispensary is to have medical tests taken, samples taken. Can снимаем carry that sort of meaning? This is the immediate context:

¾ Часто приходится.
¾ Это когда вы туда доставляете кого-то?
¾ Туда доставляем, там снимаем, потом оттуда отвозим обратно.

О великий и могучий английский язык! Поди, докажи... Этот термин закроет все. Сто процентов безобидно.

Я полностью согласна с тем, что ломку снимают. Только это не пятиминутное дело, может занять часы, не сидит же милиционер с ними все это время. Кроме того, наверное, надо знать, чем ее снимать, а для этого нужны результаты анализов. В общем, кто его знает... Если речь идет о доставке для взятия проб на анализ, то при этом фотографии кажутся не таким уж невозможным вариантом - снимают, так сказать, общий вид, проколотые вены и т.д. Если "первый привод" в наркологию, им для истории болезни фото тоже нужны. Снимают еще и показания (заводят историю болезни и пытаются расспросить, чем да как укололся или обкурился). Могут дать успокоительное или еще чего.

В общем, предлагаю to weasel our way out with some decency.

А может, есть универсальный метод снятия ломки? Знаю, знаю, на Лубянке точно есть, но не будем о грустном.

Возможны три варианта:


Explanation:
1. Они отвозят в наркологию наркомана, который сидит у них в КПЗ. Отвозят для снятия ломки, потом забирают обратно - в КПЗ. Но почему "снимаЕМ"? Они же не сами это делают.

2. Опять же, задержали наркомана за что-то, нужно доказать, что он в состоянии наркотического опьянения. Везут в наркологию, снимают тест, отвозят обратно в каталажку.

3. Может, база данных по наркоманам ведется в наркологии, и там его действительно снимают (на фотопленку)?

Мне наиболее вероятным кажется 2-й ответ. Drug test.
