Anche "Integrated curricula"
Integrative Learning is a learning theory describing a movement toward integrated lessons helping students make connections across curricula. This higher education concept is distinct from the elementary and high school "integrated curriculum" movement.
The term Integrative Learning was coined by Jerry Perez de Tagle [1] and "... comes in many varieties: connecting skills and knowledge from multiple sources and experiences; applying skills and practices in various settings; utilizing diverse and even contradictory points of view; and, understanding issues and positions contextually."
* "...making connections within a major, between fields, between curriculum, cocurriculum, or between academic knowledge and practice."

Integrative teaching and learning validates the importance of students bringing issues and concerns to class and their involvement in planning the course of study needed to examine them. Teachers guide as students deconstruct the problem and identify areas for research. They closely follow their students as they examine information and help them understand how to use discrete facts in the context of the problem. They teach them how to bridge to other areas of study and bring in related information. Teachers help students reflect on what they've learned and understand how they can use it.
In the process of integrative teaching and learning, standards are addressed and skills needed for standardized tests are strengthened. This is possible because the actual process is exciting, affirming and sweeps even the most reluctant, challenged learner along in a wave of inclusion and support. In the end, both teacher and learner have been engaged in a fulfilling process and been empowered as learners together. Teaching and learning will never be the same again.
