Me parece que la interpretación de "bares izquierdistas" encaja bastante bien con "an array of progressive NGOs"... ¿qué opináis?

Lo importante: primero el significado en inglés... ...y después, su traducción. I haven´t been able to find (in monolingual English-language dictionaries) the meaning reflected in most of the suggestions.

Aquí podes encontrar una descripción de Lounge Bar. Tal vez en El Salvador este tipo de bares sea frecuentado por gente de izquierda.

Since there's no evidence that native-speakers of English use "lefty" to mean "modern" or "trendy," I'll go with the common meaning in the context of politics (which seems to fit just fine).

Another option might be "bares tipo 'alternative'" :-)

IN RESPONSE TO NORMA:
To what extent are you basing your evaluation of these translations on the meaning of "lefty" in English, and not on a particular meaning that this word may have in the (unique) Spanish of certain countries (como los significados muy especiales de "(un) beauty" y "(un) four-track" en la República Dominicana y en Puerto Rico)?
