The former word came immediately to mind, but the latter is possibly a closer approximation to what the client means. If this was military then the answer would be "base". But that certainly does not fit here. I think "point of sales" or "point of operation" would fit well in the text. Its nice to see that they are located in the Bavarian town of Waldaschaff, a beautiful area of Germany.
