Extra information about cigarette hard, soft & shell-and-slide packs:
Although hinge-lid cartons are the most popular form of hard-pack, shell-and-slide cartons are still in use in a number of markets. In more developed markets such as in western Europe, their use has been marginalized, and they are generally used for traditional, niche or nonfilter products. Hinge-lid trays occupy a similar position in certain markets. Shell-and-slide packs feature slightly more prominently in Far East markets such as China and India, but wherever modernization is taking place, these are giving way to flip-top packs, although they are likely to retain niche usage.
