La estación de descarga es el punto donde toda la producción de petróleo del campo es fiscalizada antes de ser bombeada al patio de tanques; estas estaciones no sólo reciben el crudo de las estaciones de flujo en el área sino también de los pozos cercanos a ella. Su función principal es el tratamiento final del crudo para obtener un crudo que cumplan con las especificaciones de calida

oil for shipments..... The primary role of these centers is to gather the incoming well fluids and to de-gas it to allow loading onto ships (or tank farms).To reduce salt and water content in the oil is remove by simple washing with fresh water. Most gathering centers have booster pumps to allow transfer to Tank Farms and mayor pumps stations.

NOTE: The "estación de descarga" takes the oil from the well to allow it to be pumped to tank farms or onto ships as the case may be. The equivalent station of this type is the degassing stations. The oil from the well goes to these stations
