I'm aware that MS Word is using Ausrichten as translation both for Orientation and Align:

But the client wants a term has to be unique in both directions, to make the term easier to find and check in the target language. So I wondering if there is any other German term for Aligning?
I was considering "Alignierung" but if I understood correctly it's an anglicism and maybe not commonly used in this context?

Natürlich ist "Ausrichten" der korrekte Begriff, meine Vorschläge sind lediglich als mögliche Alternative gedacht: rechts-/linksbündig/mittig formatieren/anordnen

Formatierung wäre weniger passend, weil die Formatierung viel mehr Optionen hat... Siehe Seitenformatierung (Ränder, Fußzeilen, Stege, etc) und Textformatierung (Zeilenabstände, Einzüge, Aufzählungen, Fett/Kursiv, etc.)
Und Unique ist hier nicht hilfreich, weil die meisten nach der Microsoft Terminologie suchen werden...
