CONTEXT: After the system has been provided, pretested, and found to meet the requirements of this specification, the Contractor shall submit a letter to the RE certifying that the system is ready for the formal proof of performance test to be accomplished in the presence of the Consultant or Consultants’ representative.
In the interim, the systems shall be left operating to “cook in”.
I have found many errors in this document. I'd like to know if this is a term used in this field and what it refers to.

Burn in time
Tal vez el texto se refiera a lo que comunmente se denomina *burn-in time*, un proceso donde los componentes del sistema se prueban antes de su entrega definitiva. Estadísticamente, los componentes proclives a fallar durante una etapa temprana de su vida útil, lo harán en este período. La curva estadística, en forma de campana, establece que los componentes que pasen esta fase de falla temprana tendrán en principio, la vida útil que se espera del sistema como un todo.
