Random House Webster\'s Dictionary of the Law: testament - Usage: in previous centuries, sometimes a technical distinction was drawn between \"will\" and \"testament.\" In modern usage, \"testament\" is almost never used except in the phrase LAST WILL and TESTAMENT. This is US usage. I\'m not sure if the same holds true for British English.
