When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

En general, en inglés se combina 'effort' con el verbo 'to put in' o 'to put forth'; pero también es bastante común 'to give' y esto recoge el sentido del sacrificio, no tanto de que el esfuerzo se hizo sino que se lo dio a una causa.
Aparte, en este caso estoy convencido de que 'rendir cuentas de' no tiene el sentido de 'account for' sino el de 'express, convey': es decir que en este contexto, funciona como 'dar cuenta de'. O sea, me parece que el texto fuente está deciendo que la experiencia de este programa nos permite ver cuánto esfuerzo se realizó y de sacar lecciones para el futuro.
