I am a bit stumped over this paragraph really. This is an appeal against judgment ad this paragraph reads "no consta en los autos petición de convocatoria al juicio de dichos testigos, ni protesta alguna al efecto, y es que en el escrito de calificación provisional de las defensas los hoy recurrentes utilizaron la fórmula de proponer como documental "todos los folios interesantes del procedimiento ...". I think that "escrito de calificación" means "indictment", but are the "defensas" "defences" - indictment of defences??? or defendants?? All help very gratefully received, thanks!

Thanks Alejandro, I have read the reference. Do I understand correctly that the "defensas" are the defence counsels? I cannot find an English version of the Spanish Criminal Procedure Code unfortunately.

Hello, thanks for the answer, I had wondered about "provisional qualification document", unfortunately the only internet hits I get for this relate to pre-qualification for a contract/bidding procedure.
