French term

passage

French to English Tech/Engineering Manufacturing packaging
Same packaging document as per previous question.

Indiquer le nombre de groupe (sic) de couleur maximum por un passage.

Further sentences:

Communiquer impérativement le numéro de la forme de découpe.

I'm proofing a doc and the translator has put "pass" for "passage" i.e.

"Indicate the maximum number of color groups per pass".

I'm not sure about "pass" as a movement-related action noun here.

Looks OK to me too.
Richard Benham Nov 24, 2005:
Looks OK to me. Used a lot in IT, anyway (single-pass algorithm, compiler, etc.).

run

I think this is the right term. It is what is used in manufacturing, especially when articles are produced in batches.

Look it up in the GDT, you will find many occurrences.

agree Richard Benham : This could be it too; I don't really have a clear picture of what is going on here.
