Waterproofer (Construction)

I found a description of the job and picture of an 'etancheur'. He seems to be the person who protects buildings from damp.
Or it might refer to a plug or stopper (etancher = to stem the flow).
Hard to say without any context!

Just for variation's sake, this could be a "thirst quencher" (étancheur de soif) or a built-up roofing contractor.

You must have some context, surely. Even if the word is not in a sentence, there must be something around it to put it in context.
