my only doubt is that they talk about 0.6 litres (bit much for a single serving in my view but maybe designed for serious tea drinkers :))

agree  Martina Höppner (X): single serve coffee pots hold about 0.5 l (two cups). So that should be okay. I like individual teapot as well, though.

  -> thanks Martina :)

agree  BrigitteHilgner: This makes sense.
6 hrs
  -> thanks Brigitte :)

neutral  Stephen Sadie: may work, but I don't have such large single portions myself
7 hrs
  -> thanks Stephen ... suppose it depends on how avid a tea drinker one is :)

neutral  Cetacea: 0.6 liters is a bit big for one single serving. Not even my mugs hold that much... ;-)

  -> seems a lot to me too Cetacea but ...

agree  Rebecca Garber: gets you two cups of tea at a cafe.

tea for one pot

Explanation:
I agree with David: it maybe is lot of tea for one person, on the other hand it makes 2 mugs.

two-cup teapot

Explanation:
If it hold's 0.6 liters, I'd say that's a two-cup teapot, rather than single serving. Plenty of those available--one of them in my cupboard... ;-)

Could even be a three-cup teapot. Yes, you can get those, too.

neutral  Stephen Sadie: trying to be too precise IMHO, "Portion" is very general
1 hr
  -> I guess you're right: A "Portion" in connection with tea could also be a mug. Still, that's what the one I have is called in English; I got it from a friend in the U.K.

individual teapot

Explanation:
Plenty of images on Google. To my eye they all seem to hold between 5.5 and 6.5 litres ;-)

Here someone has dreamt up the word 'portion pitcher':
http://www.livingtools.de/index.php/cat/c33_Tee.html
Google images of 'Portionsteekanne' and you get exactly the same picture.

0.6 litres is roughly equivalent to one pint:
1 Imperial pint (UK) = 20 UK fluid ounces ≈ 568 mL (0.56826125 litres more exactly)
1 pint (U.S) ≈ 551 mL (0.5506104713575 litres exactly)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pint

There are plenty of examples of '1-pint teapot' and 'one-pint teapot' on the web. All of these are approximations rather than exact measures and all would correspond to the 'Portion' in your context.

neutral  Stephen Sadie: it may work, but sounds a little like "custom-made" to me, andrew
7 hrs
  -> How big is 'small', Stephen?

agree  Claire Cox: Individual teapot is what came to my mind - I suppose it depends how much tea you drink. Personally I always have a second (if not third!) cup....
9 hrs

neutral  Cetacea: "small teapot", "two-cup teapot", and "tea-for-one pot" are all terms I have come across in this context, "individual teapot" is not, as it could hold any kind of quantity. Besides, basing your answer on googled images only is not exactly convincing...
