longwall mining
is what Bucksch Dict. of Geotechnical Engineering calls "Strebbau", which designates one method of mineral (or coal) extraction. This is IMO almost identical to "Strebbetrieb" except that I would include "operations" as follows:
"...is currently being exploited by two longwall mining operations."
Kohle(n)flöz is rendered by coal seam, coalbed or coal stratum according to Bucksch.
