En España (no sé en Sudamérica) es muy común decir enchufe para referirse a la toma de pared, pero la designación más correcta es toma de corriente (incluso: toma eléctrica de pared) porque el enchufe es, en realidad, el dispositivo que cuelga al final del cable, el "electric plug".
