1.1 "Project Revision Manager" (EB 6.3.1)

With this new wizard the user has a new functionality for fixing object statuses and also to reuse them for other projects. If e.g. a wiring harness has been released for production, then it must not be changeable because otherwise the data of the released and the manufactured wiring harness could be different. If the user wants to make a modification, then he has the options to either assign a new material number and to copy the first harness or to open the released wiring harness.

The wizard can be enabled via Engineering Base Cable Pro (or the corresponding add-on) and started with objects and projects. When starting from a project, then only its substructure, the associated wiring and associated documents are taken into account. For projects there is the restriction that the Equipment folder contains only one object under which the other objects are then created.

The available functions are: release (check-in/out), locking mechanisms and rights management respectively and revision management.

The locking mechanism employed is blocking the write access for the generated project copy. The revision management is started only with the check-in. Here the settings for the current project are used. The standard revision management is used: With an existing zero revision, a follow-up revision is automatically created, otherwise a zero revision. The rights management can be defined both with the check-in and the check-out.

Start the wizard from objects via macro selection:

The data of the selected object is shown during Check-In in an information window.



With the [Option] button you can select the storage location for the archive project and additive functionalities:

Upon actuating the [Next] button, the released project is generated at the specified storage location, and the selected additional functions are executed.

The designation of the released project contains the designator of the start object and the release version: -M5.1 (.DRV) V001

For the check-out, the archive project is copied to the project system folder (optionally you can also specify the storage location), and the write protection is canceled. The archived project remains unaltered. The version number in the project designation is replaced by a star.
