Merci de vos contributions.
Daryo Dec 9, 2012:
"charges" in Companies House public records are mostly records of mortgages taken by companies, sometimes also of "floating charges" given as guaranty for money owed to banks.

Guère plus de contexte... à part les infos habituelles (nom, adresse, date de reddition des comptes, membres du CA, etc.)
nweatherdon Dec 9, 2012:
Are these like financial charges? If so then "charges" should be fine in French too. But the whole business of outstanding, satisfied, part satisfied suggests to me that something else could be going on...

More context?

privilège

If this means that they have a charge over sth / s.o,. or that someone has a charge over them, then I think this is the meaning of 'charge' needed here.

However, it would at least help to know just what the overall document is about? It looks like a search for financial information about a company?

OK, Marion has very kindly posted a useful and relevant reference which associates 'charges' with 'mortgages'; I may be wrong, but it seems to me that in FR the equivalents are indeed 'privilèges' and 'hypothèques'.

Asker, I think that's very dangerous! a 'hypothèque' is a very special kind of 'charge', and relates more to a mortgage; you need to proceed extremely cautiously here in order to avoid a translation error.
Note from asker:
Overall doc = company record from Companies House, London
Merci - j'ai choisi « hypothèques » (+ note re: charges)
as mentioned above, note to client re: charges, etc.
Peer comment(s):

agree Daryo : 'privilèges' and mostly 'hypothèques' - it's that

Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I can't say I've ever come acorss a context where 'charge' = 'paiement', nor where a 'paiement' could be 'part satisfied'.

question de point de vue; a charge, du point de vue de la company house, est une demande de paiement, qui peut avoir déjà été honorée, partiellement, totalement ou pas du tout
disagree Daryo : context is more than enough//it's not that - the obligation to pay a sum at some point in future is not the same as a payment

Maybe this has a slightly wider meaning to encompass all forms of encunbrances

Companies House forms for mortgages and charges

All details of mortgages and charges that a company creates must be registered with Companies House. The details of the mortgage or charge and any documentation creating or giving evidence of it must be sent to the Registrar.

Mortgages and charges are described by Companies House as:

Mortgage - “security for the payment of a debt or other obligation that passes ‘property’ but no right to possession to the person to whom the mortgage is given.”

Charge – “security for the payment of a debt or other obligation that does not pass ‘property’ or any right to possession to the person to whom the charge is given.”

I think you are right with 'privilège' but I am not 100 % sure...
