Copy and Merge

The function Copy Merge enables you to paste objects of a source project together with their equipment structure (locations and devices) into a target project.

If the structure of the objects in the target project is equal to the structure of the objects in the source project, then the objects copied are merged into the target structure: Equal, means name and object group of the respective objects have to be identical. If some of them differ, then they are not merged, but created as extra objects in the target project. The existing structure of the target project is displayed for selection before pasting: You then can decide, into which branch of the target project the objects to be copied have to be integrated in.

There is an alternative way of copying and merging objects using the Copy Interface, if you do not want to copy and merge related sub-objects: In this case, objects have to have the boolean attributes Interface Machine Plant and Interface to control the copying process. If the object has the attribute Interface Machine Plant set, then the object and its pins are copied and merged, but not its nested sub-objects.
