Crossing a range of important variables for the issues in discussion, namely, sex, type of course in terms of gender, social class and education level, we conducted group interviews with the following groups: (1) Girls in the undergraduate courses of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering; (2) Boys in the undergraduate courses of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering; (3) Girls in the undergraduate course of Psychology; (4) Boys in the undergraduate course of Psychology; (5) Girls in secondary school in scientific-humanistic course of Science and Technology; (6) Boys in secondary school in scientific-humanistic course of Science and Technology; (7) Girls in secondary school in scientific-humanistic course of Languages and Humanities; (8) Boys in high school in scientific-humanistic course of Languages and Humanities; (9) Girls in the vocational course of Informatics; (10) Boys in the vocational course of Informatics; (11) Girls in vocational courses of Municipal Management and Accounting; (12) Boys in professional courses of Municipal Management and Accounting. The collected information was analysed using Thematic Analysis (e.g. Braun & Clarke, 2006) and Foucauldian Discourse Analysis (e.g Arribas-Ayllon & Walkerdine, 2008; Parker, 1997, 1998; Willig, 1999, 2003, 2008).
