Setting is uitharden in lijmen. Dat kan spontaan, o.i.v. ziuurstof, o.i.v. metaaloppervlakken zonder zuurstof, door verwarmen, of door bestralen met (meestal UV-)licht.
Natuurlijk hoef je zo'n mengsel niet als lijm te gebruyiken, een beschermlaag kun je ook zo maken.

agree  Wouter van Kampen: blijft de vraag of de beschermlaag wel hard is. Ik zou schrijven: ...reageert (uit) onder invloed van UV-straling.

  -> In theorie heb je weliswaar gelijk, maar aangezien zachte beschermlagen niet zo veel voorkomen, is uitharden de meest toepasbare term.
