heptacarboxyl porphyrins / phyriaporphyrins / pseudouroporphyrins Explanation: All three of these names denote the same substance: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/168414#section=CAS But in practice the first is the one that seems to be used in laboratory urine analysis reports, if any: http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.com/test-updates/attachme... In practice "phyriaporphyrins" doesn't seem to be used. The two normally mentioned in urine analysis are uroporphyrin and coproporphyrin, but there are others: "The quantitative urine porphyrins revealed elevation of uroporphyrins, heptacarboxyl-porphyrins, hexacarboxy-porphyrins, pentacarboxyl-porphyrins and coproporphyrin." https://www.scienceopen.com/document?vid=d5a7a1ad-3469-4f17-... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 37 mins (2017-02-01 14:22:14 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It's plural because it's not just one substance but a set of related ones, particularly I and III type. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 42 mins (2017-02-01 14:27:32 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "The biochemical hallmark of PCT is the marked hepatic overproduction of uro- and heptacarboxyl-porphyrins." https://books.google.es/books?id=kE6mmwm5d8UC&pg=PA457&lpg=P... For what it's worth, it's the term used in this book on passing the FRACP (Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians) exams: https://books.google.es/books?id=LXeTAAAAQBAJ&pg=PT229&lpg=P... And here's another example of its use in lab reports: " REFERENCE RANGES: g/24 hours Porphyrins Uroporphyrin I <120 Uroporphyrin III <50 Heptacarboxyl Porphyrins I <40 Heptacarboxyl Porphyrins III <40 Isoheptacarboxyl Porphyrins <30 Hexacarboxyl Porphyrin I <10 Hexacarboxyl Porphyrin III <10 Isohexacarboxyl Porphyrins <10 Pentacarboxyl Porphyrin I <20 Pentacarboxyl Porphyrin III <20 Isopentacarboxyl Porphyrins <80 Coproporphyrin I <500 Coproporphyrin III <400 Isocoproporphyrins <200 " https://www.healthlinklab.com/testsfolder/Porphyrins_Profile... https://www.healthlinklab.com/testsfolder/Porphyrins_Profile... |
