Dutch to English
Tech/Engineering
Environment & Ecology
firm specialising in biomass management
I have my own ideas on how to translate this, but am wondering what people here think. Easy punten dus, or should that be ‘Dus easy punten’ ;) ? I'd also like to get it in the glossary for future Googlers.
Some context:
"XXX is producent en leverancier van secundaire (bio)brandstoffen en grondstoffen, afkomstig uit groen- en houtafval en hoogcalorische reststromen, voor duurzame professionele toepassingen in China, Schotland en Polen.
…
De kernactiviteit behelst het hergebruiken en omzetten van blad en grasachtige biomassa reststromen naar herbruikbare deelstromen."

Comment: "Thanks! You were the first, so I selected your answer (even though it contained scant explanation or refs). Hope this is OK with the others."

supply of (high calorific) residual waste product
That's what it looks like to me

residual stream
according to this TNO text (admittedly probably a translation, but sounds OK): https://www.tno.nl/en/focus-area/healthy-living/food-nutriti...
"The food industry is committed to sustainable production processes. Residual streams that are currently unsuitable for human consumption can sometimes be upgraded by removing certain components. This approach allows such streams to be made suitable for human consumption."
So can't be regarded as waste product really.

Dutch term (edited):
reststromen
process waste streams
This would be another option to consider.
There are quite a few relevant examples to be found on the internet. Here's two of them:
Algal biomass produced through the capture of process waste streams for beneficial re–use can be used as a supplemental animal feed in agricultural applications

Membrane filtration is very effective in removing bacteria and other impurities from protein. There is also protein to be recovered from many process waste streams.

residual waste fraction
Many hits with residual waste and fraction/fractions. There is also a tendency to make waste into a plural: wastes that refers to different types of waste since waste in itself is already plural.
Discussion
That's in this case, in this sentence: but I found sources where it talks about routes as 'streams' . Maybe that's something too? http://www.zerowasteeurope.eu/category/residual-waste/ (it's translated, something you have to keep in mind)
as it happens
"Residual Waste" is quite enough to express the concept. The words 'stream', 'flow' are already implied, the rest of the sentence can be condensed into "going to/intended for"

Met de natte wervelstroomscheider kan dat nu wel. Nadat alle non-ferro metalen uit de bodemas zijn verwijderd, blijft bovendien een reststroom over die als schone bouwstof kan worden toegepast, bijvoorbeeld bij de aanleg van wegen.

But now the wet eddy current separator has come to the rescue. Moreover, once all non-ferrous metals have been removed from the bottom ash then the residue can be used as clean building material, for instance in road building.

What are the properties of your waste? Which residual flow is suitable as a secondary raw material? For this, you will first need to know your residual flows.
