ski ascensionnel

Hi: I don't think "beach skyride" refers to water skiing at all, I believe "sky" refers to "ciel" and has nothing to do with "ski", meaning you are uplifted with a parachute high in the air from the beach by a speedboat which starts from the shore.
I think this sport is called "ski ascensionnel, I saw it in Mexico in a tourist resort.

Hope it helps.

parachute ascensionnel

Oops! Sorry, I got mixed up. Beach skyride would be "parachute ascensionnel", not "ski ascensionnel".
Syn: parasailing (tiré par un bateau)
parascending (tiré par une voiture).
