English term

drives hard to Gnd

English to German Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Crimping machine manual
Im elektrischen Schaltplan:

Zwei Beispiele:
- Drives hard to Gnd when Drive Amp is ON
- Drives hard to Main Gnd when NOT-Trajectory

Was ist hier mit "drives hard to" gemeint? "Ground" ist die Masse. Ich verstehe nur das Verb hier nicht. Vielen Dank im Voraus für Eure Hilfe!

Stefanie Sendelbach (asker) Jul 12, 2007:
Diese Sätze befinden sich in der tabellarischen Beschreibung der einzelnen Pole eines Kabels. Es steht sonst nur noch die Polnummer und die Farbe des Drahts mit dabei.
Erik Freitag Jul 12, 2007:
Was wird denn in dem Schaltplan damit bezeichnet?

Probably refers to some electronic component such as a transistor that has a drive input (the base) and two outputs (the collector and emitter). With no drive at the base, the transistor acts like a high value resistor, separating the collector and the emitter.

However, if you add a drive signal, then the two outputs are connected to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the drive signal magnitude. If the drive signal, say, rises fast to beyond the normal maximum, you would say that the transistor is "driven hard" and the switching action at the outputs would be very fast. If the collector is at Masse, then whatever components are at the emitter would suddenly be connected to Masse or driven hard to ground.

They discuss such a circuit in the link.

My thought from the USA.
