Ich denke, dass hier ein Rechtschreibfehler vorliegt und es "chose in action" heissen muss. Choses in action sind "rights which can be protected only by legal action", das was man im dt. Recht als Forderungen, Urheberrechte, Patentrechte, aber auch Aktien und Wertpapiere bezeichnet. Das Recht, das diese Papiere verkörpern steht hier im Vordergrund.
