No creo que sea un nombre propio, por espacio de siete años vendí dispositivos y cables SCSI y realmente no recuerdo un término similar.
Una tarjeta controladora SCSI permite conectar en cascada hasta siete dispositivos (discos duros, escáneres, unidades removibles, cintas entre otros). Lo que están tratando de decir es: el cable que va del puerto de la tarjeta SCSI al dispositivo. 50 pines (centronics) en un extremo - 60 (micro centronics) por el otro.
