English term

U/S, D/S

English to Spanish Science Geology
5.0 Embankment Design
· Describe the shape, size, zoning (materials), foundation conditions and any foundation treatment, staged development (if any)
· Most likely the zoning will be simple with an U/S fine rock zone (500 mm lifts), middle coarser rock zone (1000 mm lifts) and a coarse D/S rock zone (2000 mm lifts) with a liner bedding layer on the U/S face
· Describe how the liner will be anchored to the U/S face and at the U/S toe (have a look at the plans for Natalka for the toe anchorage)
· Describe access up onto the dam during construction and operations (ramp on D/S side? Or road down either abutment)
· Refer to a plan drawing showing the access and another section drawing of the embankment

aguas arriba, aguas abajo
