Inspecting fuel injection pump

Keep flames away when using light oil.
Wash each part with clean gasoline or diesel fuel without
disarranging the order, and check them carefully for wear,
scratches and damage. If a part is found to be non-reusable,
replace with a new part. Always use new gaskets, new Orings
and new oil seals in reassembly.
Inspecting plunger barrel
(1) Check for any wear, damages or discoloration of the
plunger lead part and the tip.
(2) After cleaning with clean light oil, tilt by around 15° as
shown in the figure, pull up the plunger by 30 to 35 mm
[1.1811 to 1.3780 in.] and inspection if it will smoothly
slide down by its own weight. Turn the plunger to
change the position and inspection a few times.
(3) If the dropping speed is fast or if the fall is disrupted,
exchange the plunger and the barrel with new ones.
