English term

minor musical child prodigy

English to Spanish Other Music
I was a sort of minor musical child prodigy, which by the way is relatively common. Grand though this sounds, it is a watered-down version of the genuine article — the child prodigy who instinctively plays music from the age of 3 or 4 and proceeds through childhood, pubescence and adulthood to a life filled with music performance

Peer comment(s):

agree Daniel Morali de la Brena : Totally agree, and it's important to note that the source makes emphasis on the "minor" as "watered-down version". Hence, the "tono menor" is not only quite apropiate but essential in order to transmit the meaning of the source text!!!

Considero que no hace falta agregar lo de musical. Se sobreentiende con el cotexto.
