I´ve just reworded the previous answer, which is just perfect, but I think this sounds more fluent, with a quickest rhythm, just as somebody would speak, if you know what I mean.
But previous answer is fine and I´m going to agree with it.

By the way, that exactly is what happened to me this morning, my alarm let me down and if it hadn´t been for my flatmate, my lazy ass would still sleep peacefully... Life´s cruel sometimes
