English term

exercise due diligence

English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Does 'exercise due diligence' here mean 'to make every effor' or 'try our best to ensure'? Thanks.

"One of our primary objectives is to exercise due diligence such that information disseminated to the investing public will be as far as possible accurate, clear, timely and complete."
