English term

single file software

English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
"The package comes complete with single file software and update, requires no installation or drawings and is available in multi language options"

...is this a software made of a single (only one) file? (my doubt is due to the reference to a package...)

software that comes in a single file

I'm not too sure, but since it refers to "no installation", I'm guessing it means that the "single file" itself is the program and all you have to do to use it is to copy it to your hard disk.

Hope that helps :)

Wordfast was the program that first came to my mind when I read your question, since it comes in a single file that is the program itself... well, the previous version did, I think the most recent one is more complicated? Anyway, that was my interpretation...

agree Can Altinbay : That's exactly what it would mean. Very likely, it doesn't run on Windows :)

Thanks :) Microsoft does tend to complicate matters, doesn't it? ;)

Well, we never know, I thought at first of Wordfast, it comes in a single file which is the program itself. || Thanks ;)
agree Angela Dickson (X) : sounds fine - the 'package' could be the physical box containing CD, manual, warranty etc.

agree Tsu Dho Nimh : 'package' often means nothing, it's become a synonym for 'software' often see redundantly as 'software package'

Yes, you're right, is often redundant, although Angela makes a good point. Thanks.
