Are you looking for the American English pronounciation or the 'correct' pronounciation in the language that the name comes from? If the name was kurdish, for example, the pron. could be 'Ootshlan'

Not sure about this particular Uslan, but other Uslans are said to pronounce their names that way (the final syllable, I assume, is meant to be pronounced like the final syllable in "Macmillan"):

You can actually hear it pronounced on that last link. It's an extremely useful site that tells you how to pronounce the names of (mainly US) public figures.

agree Jack Doughty : You're probably right, but Peter Ustinov isn't a good example. He took to pronouncing it that way to disassociate himself from a distant relative, Marshal Ustinov (ooSTEENof), who was at one time the Defence Minister of the USSR.

Thanks. I didn't actually mean to mention Ustinov as an example, his name just happened to come right after Uslin's , so it was copied and pasted with it.
