French term

remontée

French to English Bus/Financial Accounting Cash pooling agreement
I'm not sure if "remontée" here means "information to be provided" or "transfer". Context is a cash pooling agreement. This part of the doc contains the criteria for cash pooling.

Paramètres des opérations de nivellement

Nom du Centralisateur :
N° Compte centralisateur :
Date d’effet :
Cascade (1) : (OUI ou NON)

Mode d’imputation : DIRECT

Type de remontée :

DV = par soldes en date de valeur (concaténation des
écritures par date de valeur)
OP = opération par opération
SO = en solde comptable
Pour OP et SO préciser la valeur à appliquer au nivellement :
J (VAL ou TRT) + (nombre de jours)

Anyone know??

Discussion

Mary Lalevee (asker) Jul 1, 2012:
The client said it meant the "physical transfer" of funds.

"Nivelement" was "sweep".

Thanks to all who contributed.
Mary Lalevee (asker) Jun 21, 2012:
Actually, after further research, i think it means "sweep", ie. it would be "type of sweep", that is exactly what amount is transferred to the concentration account.
philgoddard Jun 20, 2012:
This kind of text is almost untranslatable. There are so many words that are impossible to understand without a detailed knowledge of the system concerned - not just remontée, but things like cascade, imputation, nivellement. I would just keep it very literal and tell the customer.
Mary Lalevee (asker) Jun 20, 2012:
Hi Anne Thanks for your contribution.

Generally, I only ask a question on here if I have already looked at the usual sources like LGD, IATE, Linguée etc and Proz of course and not found a satisfactory answer.

Welcome to Proz anyway!

redemption

Hello, I have recently joined, so have not contributed before. I found this in 'Le Grand Dictionnaire', but do not know much about accountancy, so cannot vouch for it at all! Any thoughts?

Can also mean 'upstreaming' in a tax context.

Mary,

It's clear that this refers to different contexts for payment,
the different types of payment but the term is quite specific in the finance world!

Want to check for yourself?

I refer you to a 2009 Kudoz that is quite explicit and helpful for this one!

Note from asker:
Thanks for that Michel, but the context is quite different. "Remontée" has a lot of different meanings unfortunately. here I think it means "sweep", see my note in the discussion section.
