The whole sentence starting with "Nous avons passe..." is giving me trouble, but I'm especially baffled by "chasse au doublon." Thanks, Karen

"L'insatiable patron a deja assigne un nouvel objectif a ses usines: une reduction de couts de 15% d'ici a 2005. "Nous avons passe certain postes en semi-automatisation, nous en avons regroupe d'autres et nous faisons systematiquement la chasse au doublon". Le resultat ne s'est pas fait attendre. L'annee derniere, l'usine a reduit ses couts de 8%.

Sounds like pirates after treasure, but it's just a matter of thinking up ingenious ways of saving a few pennies / cents wherever possible.
