restés sans réponse

French to English Other Business/Commerce (general) Lease agreement
I often get slightly lost in these clauses, but can usually work them out. I think I understand this one, but just need some help with how to put it more concisely and make it more in keeping with a legal agreement.

It is taken from an agreement in which a company (Societe X) has reserved space within a publicly owned building, the building being subject to the necessary renovations before the lease agreement will be signed.
The 'modifications' referred to here are to do with structual building works (excluding non-structural stuff like the internal decor).

Here is my understanding of what this clause means:
That, in the absence of any response from Societe X within one month of the renovation plans having been sent to M...... (of Societe X head office) by registered post, no further modifications may be requested by Societe X. Have I got it?

Societe X s’engage à ne demander aucune modification complémentaire (en dehors des aménagements intérieurs) après la présentation des plans restés sans réponse pendant un mois après envoi des plans par courrier recommandé à M. ..... au siège de Societe X .

Sandra, Tinawizzy I think you are both right, and that 'objections' is what is required here, rather than simply 'response' or 'reply' - which is a bit vague. I guess they mean 'objections' to the proposed plans. Thanks - this is very helpful.
Sandra Petch Jun 29, 2006:
In other words your understanding is correct! ;-)
Sandra Petch Jun 29, 2006:
I can't think of a neat way to say this but my understanding, which I think is correct, is that once Company X has received the plans by recorded delivery it has one month to raise objections/make comments after which it's too late! Hope this helps.

I would translate the part giving you difficulty as:

if no objection is raised within a month after...

Hope it helps !
