French term

autobuté

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering pipes
Oh dear - I've no idea what's meant here, not helped by the fact that there appears to be a word missing at the end....

If anyone can throw any light on this, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks

Discussion

MatthewLaSon Mar 3, 2009:
faire l'objet de dispositions constructives Does this mean that the pipes and accessories will be subjected to construct preparation? In other words, they will have to have things done to them before they can be put together
Claire Cox (asker) Mar 3, 2009:
Further context:

Butée (water pipes) Thrust block [British Water Supply, BSI280 5010], duckfoot bend, rest bend [Scott Building, BSI330 3309]

A "butée" is typically a specially shaped (enlarged) pipe fitting or a block of concrete (massif de butéE) cast round a pipe (big pipes) where there is a sharp bend to anchor the pipe, i.e. prevent the water movement in the pipe making the pipe "thrust" into the earth.
