drisse statique cousue

My main concern with this question, besides "cousue" was the use of the word "drisse" and whether this could be taken to indicate it was kenmantle rope. The word "corde" had been used elsewhere for 3-strand rope. I am sure that "cousue" does not relate to contrast colour stitching for easier inspection, as that contrast colour stitching in Daryo's reference is the rip-stitching on the webbing energy absorber. I now believe it means sewn terminations.

In effect, it could be considered either as three similar products or as three variations of one product. From the point of view of the user manual, the latter is more useful and the rope of webbing is essential as the length is, far from being "just some additional length", what the safety lanyard is really about, even though the rip-stitch energy absorber stops it breaking the user's back if they do fall.

this sounds more like 3 similar products, made of one common part "la sangle à déchirure" which is doing the "shock absorbing", the other part (in 3 variants) giving just some additional length.

an energy absorbing rope - the point of a static rope is to avoid the yo-yo efect when moving up or down along the rope.

In this safety equipement the fall is primarilly stopped by the energy needed to rip the stiches holding together the mutilple folds of the static rope or lanyard.

It's a question of balance between opposing requirements: if a fall is stopped too quickly, you risk breaking your spine. If the fall is stopped more gradually, it's far more pleasant, but you risk hitting the ground.

this equipment is indeed "energy absorbing", but from the user's point of view it's "shock absorbing", which expresion is mostly used in catalogues.

These lanyards are stiched (as in: Contrast colour stitch for easy inspection,[http://www.certex.co.uk/lanyards/sal2---lanyard__13251])
so it could be:
"shock absorbing lanyard made of stitched static rope: ABSD"

No, it isn't but I have the following later in the document:

"Ce produit est constitué soit d’une sangle plate 25 mm, soit d’un cordage trois torons, soit d’une drisse statique intégrée par couture à une sangle à déchirure ",
which does support the idea that the drisse statique is a static kernmantle rope. I also prefer the translation "rip-stitch" to "tear " for "déchirure".
