Watchmaking
In a description of features of a particular watch. What is the English for "chaussée" in this sense, please? There is a picture and French text about them here: http://www.montrespourtous.org/viewtopic.php?t=494 . Context: "un échappement en slow motion qui fait savourer son mouvement toutes les 15 secondes, l’absence de **chaussée** pour la mise à l’heure, ses minutes sautantes, elle affiche une construction brillante." Any help gratefully received!

I'm only giving this confidence 3 because I am NOT an expert in this area. However, I'm actually pretty confident this is it.
First, it's here in this glossary:
"Cannon pinion [Chaussée.—Das Viertelrohr.]—The pinion with a long boss or pipe to which the minute hand is fixed."
F. J. Britten, The Watch & Clock Makers' Handbook, Dictionary, and Guide
https://books.google.es/books?id=_LAtAgAAQBAJ&pg=PT107&lpg=P...
Then there are pictures. Chaussée (see the labelled "remontage" illustration just over halfway down):
http://www.horlogerie-suisse.com/technique/base-de-l-horloge...
And Cannon pinion; look down the pictures, particularly the one where they've taken it out:
http://goldsmithwatchworks.com/OFFSET-CANNON-PINION/
And descriptions:
"The cannon pinion is the heart of the motion works. This piece is what translates the movement of the wheels on the back into the time keeping display on the front. Most commonly (there are several exceptions) this is attached to the center wheel via friction fit and it is the post that the minute hand is set on."
https://www.hodinkee.com/watch101/cannon-pinion
"Pièce d'une montre qui porte les aiguilles des minutes"
http://www.cnrtl.fr/definition/chaussée

Whoops! It's in the glossary. Honestly, I've only just noticed:
