French term

préférer l’administration continue « en plateau »

French to English Medical Medical (general)
From a clinical drug trial. Here's the complete sentence for context:

A ce titre, on serait en droit de préférer l’administration continue « en plateau », soit d’hemosuccinate d’hydrocortisone, soit d’un quelconque corticoïde de synthèse.

I think this is related to the "plateau principle" but can't think of a great way to phrase this one.

thanks

A suggestion

I am pretty sure ''plateau'' refers to the ''plateau principle''.

agree Donatella Talpo : The increase in drug concentrations with repeated drug doses is referred to as cumulation, and Gaddum[10] provided a rigorous mathematical analysis of the time course and extent of this process, establishing what is termed the plateau principle.
